June 2016 Chapter Meeting
Topic: 1,4-Dioxane, An Emerging Contaminant in Texas
Speaker: J. Scott Poynor, P.G., President, Geologic Science and Technology
Date: Tuesday, June 28, 2016
Time: 11:30 am - 11:55 am - Networking
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm - Lunch/Discussion

Mr. Poynor is a registered Texas Professional Geoscientist with over 28 years of environmental expertise with broad experience in regulatory compliance, contaminant assessment and remediation.   Mr. Poynor’s experience focuses on environmental risk analysis, valuation and liability management; complex soil and groundwater contamination forensics, assessment and mitigation; design, installation and execution of state-of-the-art multi-sequenced in-situ treatment.   In 2000, Mr. Poynor founded Geologic Science and Technology (GST), a boutique environmental mitigation firm specializing in tailored in-situ solutions for rapidly achieving contaminant reduction goals in soil and groundwater.  GST is consistently achieving accelerated regulatory closure on multiple contaminated groundwater sites including the only 1,4-Dioxane remedial clean closure in Texas.  GST’s proprietary in-situ remediation techniques have repeatedly proven successful on PCE, TCA, TCE, DCA, DCE, CCl4, Cr6, and 1,4-DX groundwater plumes in multiple regulatory jurisdictions.  Over the last sixteen years, 100% of GST’s business is from repeat customers and referrals.
